The A2338 is actually an **Apple silicon** model, either the M1 (2020) or M2 (2022) 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. Apple never made an Intel version with that model number; the Intel 13-inch Touch Bar models were numbered A1706, A1989, A2159, A2251, and A2289. So follow the Apple silicon steps. **1. Try startup options first** - Hold power about 10 seconds to shut it off. - Press and hold power until "Loading startup options" appears. - If it gets there, choose Options and then Reinstall macOS. **2. If you get the "!" again, revive it from another Mac** - You need a Mac running macOS Sonoma or later (Finder), or Apple Configurator on an older version. - Use a USB-C cable that carries data. - On the A2338, plug into the **left-side USB-C port closest to the hinge**. That's the DFU port. - Press and hold power. While holding it, also hold **left Control, left Option, and right Shift** for about 10 seconds. - Release those three keys but keep holding power until the Mac shows up in Finder or Configurator. It may stay black the whole time, which is normal. - Choose **Revive** first, which keeps your data. Use **Restore** only if Revive fails, because it erases the drive. If it doesn't show up, try the other left-side port and a different cable; the cable is the most common culprit. Without another Mac, an Apple Store can usually revive it quickly at no charge.
